The San Francisco 49ers have added depth to their roster by elevating running back Tevin Coleman and cornerback Janoris Jenkins from the practice squad. This move comes as the team is currently dealing with injuries to RB Elijah Mitchell and CB Ambry Thomas, both of whom are listed as questionable.
Coleman, who had a three-touchdown game in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers, has mostly been used in reserve work when he has been active on the roster. He was also elevated from the practice squad for the wild card round but was listed as a healthy inactive.
Jenkins, on the other hand, has seen more recent action with a handful of snaps in Week 15 when Charvarius Ward got hurt and again in the season finale against the Arizona Cardinals. He also saw time late in the 49ers’ wild card victory over the Seattle Seahawks. He has also contributed on special teams.
