After the Madison Square Garden wedding to Taylor Swift, Kelce called Chiefs training camp a sanctuary. He also said Mahomes’ health played a factor in his return to Kansas City.

Because the last few years trained the country to treat Kansas City as the default.
Last season broke that habit. A 6-11 year and a quarterback on a surgeon’s table will do that. Kansas City spent the offseason trying to reset around Mahomes, Kelce and a roster that had lost its usual margin for error.
Kelce staying is the counter-argument in a tight end’s body. If the thrower is a question, the safety valve is a choice.
