Miami at Notre Dame headlines Saturday night

The prime-time game in South Bend carries major attention because No. 1 Miami arrives unbeaten and faces a Notre Dame team ranked 11th in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Miami has built its position through a strong start, but Notre Dame’s home crowd and physical style make this one of the toughest remaining games on the Hurricanes’ schedule.

Miami will want to dictate tempo and avoid giving Notre Dame short fields. The Irish need to win early downs, keep the game close into the second half and take advantage of any turnover opportunities. A win would give either team a significant boost in the playoff discussion.

Georgia vs. Ole Miss: A top-10 SEC test

Georgia’s trip to Ole Miss is another national game with direct playoff consequences. The Bulldogs have little margin for error against a top-10 opponent, while Ole Miss gets the opportunity to turn a home game into a defining result. The matchup is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

The key will be controlling the line of scrimmage and limiting explosive plays. Georgia typically wants to establish its physical identity, while Ole Miss will look for ways to create space and make the defense defend the full width of the field.

BYU at Utah opens the ranked slate

The noon ET game on ABC is a major early test. Utah enters unbeaten and ranked third, while BYU is ninth. The winner gets a valuable conference result and a stronger position as the playoff race tightens. The game also gives fans a full afternoon to follow the impact of the result before the evening’s national matchups begin.

Other games and viewing notes

Texas at Missouri and UCLA at Minnesota both kick off at noon ET. Kentucky at Tennessee begins at 6:15 p.m. ET, while Iowa at Northwestern and the Miami–Notre Dame and Georgia–Ole Miss games are among the evening options.
