Three NHL games to watch

Rangers at Kraken — 5:00 p.m. ET

New York’s trip to Seattle is the first major evening game. The Rangers will look to manage the pace and avoid giving the Kraken transition chances. Seattle gets home ice and an opportunity to make its forecheck a factor early.

Canadiens at Maple Leafs — 7:00 p.m. ET

Montreal and Toronto renew one of the league’s most recognizable rivalries. The matchup is a natural national-interest game, even though broadcast availability in the United States may depend on the regional package and local rights.

Canucks at Oilers — 10:00 p.m. ET

The late window closes with a Canadian divisional rivalry. Vancouver and Edmonton both have a reason to value the head-to-head points, and the game gives West Coast viewers a marquee finish to the Saturday slate.

Afternoon games set the tone

Florida at Washington begins at 12:30 p.m. ET, followed by St. Louis at Nashville at 1 p.m. ET. The Panthers–Capitals contest is a useful early test for two teams with playoff ambitions, while the Blues and Predators meet in a Central Division matchup that can affect the early standings.

The three 8 p.m. ET games give fans a choice between San Jose at Dallas, Tampa Bay at Minnesota and Chicago at Carolina. Detroit at Colorado and Pittsburgh at Los Angeles then occupy the 9 p.m. window.

How to watch NHL games in the United States

National broadcasts and local rights vary by matchup. The NHL’s schedule lists NHL Network for select games, while ESPN+ carries many out-of-market matchups. Local viewers may need their team’s regional sports network or local streaming partner. Blackout restrictions can apply, so verify the game listing with the provider before puck drop.

Sportimatic viewing pick: Rangers–Kraken offers an interesting start to the evening, Canadiens–Maple Leafs brings a rivalry matchup, and Canucks–Oilers provides a strong late-night finish.
