Baltimore Ravens · AFC North · Week 7 Injury Update

Lamar Jackson has been ruled out of Baltimore’s Sunday game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Ravens announced Saturday. After three limited practices and a Friday questionable designation, the quarterback’s high-ankle sprain will keep him sidelined for a third straight game.

What changed overnight?

Jackson appeared to be moving closer to a return after participating on a limited basis Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. But the team ruled him out on Saturday, ending the possibility of a game-day decision. His injury was sustained against Tennessee in Week 4, and he has now missed Baltimore’s last three games.

Jackson explained on Friday that pain while running remains a concern. He said he would not help the team by playing if he could not move the way his position requires. The club has not announced a firm return date.

Tyler Huntley gets another start

Huntley is expected to start for the third consecutive game in Jackson’s place. Baltimore won in overtime against Atlanta in Week 5 before losing to Cleveland in Week 6. With the Ravens and Bengals meeting in a divisional game, the offense will need to execute without Jackson’s rushing threat and ability to extend plays outside the pocket.

The key question is whether Huntley can help Baltimore sustain drives and avoid putting extra pressure on a defense that has dealt with injuries of its own.

Why Jackson’s absence matters

Jackson’s value is not limited to passing yards. Defenses must account for his ability to run, escape pressure and turn broken plays into first downs. Without that threat, Baltimore may need to rely more heavily on designed runs, quicker throws and disciplined protection to keep the offense on schedule.

There is no confirmed timetable for his return. Week 8 against Buffalo is the Ravens’ next game, but availability will depend on how the ankle responds during rehabilitation and practice.
