As of October 26, 2026, the NFL is still in the regular season. The 2026 playoff field and matchups have not been finalized, so there are no confirmed playoff teams “left” in the bracket yet.
The official NFL 2026 playoff bracket currently lists future matchups as TBD. It will fill in as teams qualify and seeding is determined.
How many teams reach the NFL playoffs?
Seven teams from each conference qualify: four division winners and three wild-card teams. Division winners and wild-card clubs are seeded under the NFL’s official rules. The season’s records and applicable tiebreakers determine the order.
What decides which teams qualify?
- Wins, losses and ties: the overall record is the starting point.
- Division titles: each division winner earns a postseason spot.
- Wild-card places: the next-best qualifying records in the conference fill the remaining places.
- Tiebreakers: the NFL applies different step-by-step criteria for division and wild-card ties. Head-to-head results, division record and conference record can be among the factors, depending on the situation.
Because the season is ongoing, a team’s chances can change week by week. A current standings table is not the same as a finalized playoff bracket, and it is too early to list the postseason teams as confirmed.
